I have the A&J micro drive for my 2068. I have several tapes that
still work. I was wondering is there any source for these tapes? IS
the A&J micro drive actually a Exatron Stringy Floppy?
One more thing has anyone done it or is it even possible to have an
Ethernet connection for a 2068?

Hi Moteman,
I believe that the media itself is the same, cannot say about the formatting method though. I also believe that Olivetti made a data storage device for one of their typeriters that also uses  the same "stringy floppy-(proprietary cassette basically)".

I've read about all the different tape drives for the TS2068 but never
saw one. It seems they're extremely rare. Would it be possible to
share pictures with us?

It is possible. The interface for the ZX Spectrum is almost done, and
I believe it can be adapted to work on a TS2068. Visit Winston's
website and contact him if you have any question.

I have added a picture of the A&J Micro drive. You can have two drives
and they will work on the TS2068 and ZX81/Timex computers.

These drives came in two types: A and B. The media is physically
different between the types. I have one of each, in working
condition, with media.

Warning: These things are extremely unreliable, and the tapes
break easily. By unreliable, I mean that they do not work exactly
as advertised. The tapes, as far as I can tell, are no longer
available from any source.

If you have one of these drives I recommend that you stash it away as
a "collector's item" and never attempt to use it. They are certainly
of historical value but were never practical to use.

I have uploaded pictures of the stringy floppy tapes that the A&J micro uses.
