1. Composite to VGA adapter?

David · Sun, 23 Oct 2011 01:26

Hello, 1st time posting here. Owned a T/S 2068 back in 1983/84 then gave it away when I got an IBM PCjr (an 'upgrade' only from the standpoint of keyboard and manuals). Recently got nostalgic and nabbed another 2068 to play with.

My question is, has anyone tried a device like that listed below to interface a T/S 2068 to a modern LCD PC monitor? If so, how is the quality?

http://www.svideo.com/video2vga.html

Thanks
David Ellis

I haven't, but have also been curious for some time but they were too
pricey to take the chance.. These seem pretty inexpensive, and if no one
else has tried one i may get one just to see.

I suspect they will be at their best when connected to a LCD display that has a native resolution of 1024x768, judging from the specs on the converter. Larger displays may look a bit blurry. In any case, should be a lot easier on the eyes than viewing on older CRT screen (monitor or TV).

Yeah, computer monitors are exactly alike anywhere you go. Well, apart from the actual power required to make it work, but if you have a running monitor right now, from anywhere in the world, this would work just fine

Haven't tried it either but I am wondering:

Would that allow to connect a TS2068 to an European PC Monitor?

I would thing so, since VGA and PC Monitors should nof follow the TV standards (such as PAL or NTSC).

Any thoughts?
