The page says TC 2048. There is no mention of the TS 2068. I didn't read everything about the system, as I can't ever use it, but I presume that there is some sort of software for it. This probably wouldn't work on the TS 2068 without modification, right?

Besides the bus expansion port, the Timex ROM?

The divIDE hardware has hardware traps on access to the ROM tape
routines, as these are relocated on the TS you would have to use a
Spectrum ROM for it to work.

With a auto-boot Spectrum emulator cartridge it would work.
To use Timex hardware there is no need to have the HOME ROM enabled.
I have a converted AY player for Timex on a TOS disk (FDD) that I use
with the TMX Portugal Spectrum emulator cartridge. And it works!!

Yes, however you get the Spectrum ROM in place, it should work (I
*think* non-booting is fine as long as you page in before using the
patched tape routines).

Snapshot loading should be fine either way.

So, can we clarify what needs to happen.

A DivIDE Plus interface costs about $130 plus shipping ($10 more if you need the through connector). To get it to work with the TS2068, there would be the need to make a twister adaptor (cost approx $20). The same twister could presumably also be used with the PlusD disk interface.

This solves the hardware - however the software is then a problem. Someone would need to look at the PlusD operating system and the firmware for the DivIDE Plus to come up with a solution (possibly in the battery backed RAM) which would start the TS2068 with the Spectrum ROM and necessary firmware to use these devices.

The problem is that we do not have any TS2068s to try. Bill Loguidice will soon have a DivIDE Plus and a TS2068, but would need the twister.

The question has to be what amount of interest is there in such a project - if there was sufficient interest, then if everyone clubbed together to purchase the hardware, I would let it go at cost so that someone could experiment on getting it to work with the TS2068.
