1. Giving away FREE STUFF

Rod H · Mon, 6 Apr 2009 18:13: · 📎 3: file, file, file

I have a British ZX Spectrum+ with power supply that I would like to GIVE AWAY. I do not know if it works as the power supply is for 220v. Before I got it, long ago - can't remember when or from whom, someone put a two-prong North American-style plug on the end of the PS cord. I don't know why. As you can see from the attached photos a few keys are missing from the keyboard. Did I mention this was FREE?

The last time I gave anything away it was TWO perfectly good TS2068 units. I gave them away to someone who reads this board and I only asked that they pay the shipping.
AFTER they received the TWO FREE 2068s they complained bitterly about how much shipping by UPS was to get TWO FREE 2068s. And not a word of thanks for the TWO FREE well-packed 2068s in perfect working order. Not a pleasant experience!

This time if anyone wants this Spectrum+ and power supply you will have to figure out the postage or whatever and tell me what it will cost and pay me before hand. I promise to pack well and send promptly. The Spectrum weighs 1 kilogram. The power supply weighs 750 grams. Add on a bit for the packing and the box. Let's say 2 kilos all in. My Canadian postal code is V4C7E6. You ask your post office or courier company to give you the price of postage or courier fee for whatever method of shipping you choose to go from my postal code to where ever you are. I'll send you a FREE Spectrum+ with a few keys missing from the keyboard.

If you're interested email me at
rodh64-at-hotmail.com
First email gets it.

Some of you might recognize my name from the "old days". I've been in the Sinclair community since '82.

Subject: [ts2068] If we're able to talk to...

...some of the people who used to work for Sinclair, Timex or companies who produced hardware and software for the TS1000 and TS2068 in the past, what type of questions should we be asking? Some of these people might be kind enough to give me some of their time in the next couple weeks, but I have a couple thoughts about this:

-We don't want to overwhelm them or scare them away with too many questions and/or requests

-I don't want to say who I found or may find (not even by pm or e-mail) because I don't want to give false hopes.

So, if we have some honor guests dropping by to say hello to the group or if someone decides to talk to me via e-mail (and I post the whole conversation later), what should we (or I) be asking?

This list of questions would be useful not just to me, but to anyone who might find some key people.

Hi Rod. Remember me? :) I finally got that TS2090 and the TS1510. :D Have you checked eBay lately? It feels weird to see two TS2090s going for less than $50 on eBay after I paid almost $200 for one....

I wish I was the one who received one of those free TS2068s. I'm about to sacrifice my own TS2068 and send it to the U.K. so that new hardware can be tested before being sold to TS2068 users.

You made this post at around 6PM and I'm 4 hours late. This is why I shouldn't take naps in the afternoon! I sent you an e-mail, but it's probably too late.
