1. Help with the EightyOne Emulator

Chatul he-Zibad · Mon, 30 Dec 2013 11:12

Hello everyone...

I am writing to ask if anyone who uses the EightyOne ZX Spectrum/TS 2068
emulator could give me blow-by-blow instructions on how to create and
save to a new file. I have been able to load old tape files easily
enough using the WAV Loader but have totally failed to create new new
ones. Either it is not obvious how to do it or I am committing a
monumental stooopid.

Any help would be welcome.

Thanking you all in advance,

David (a.k.a. Zabad)

Ok....

I found my own answer but only through persistence. This emulator is in
sore need of a user's manual. Next question -- how to I send output to a
full-sized printer.

Hi David,
Sounds like you would benefit from an overview like "The ZX Spectrum on your PC" by Colin Woodcock (ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/books/ZXSpectrumOnYourPCThe-SecondEdition.pdf). It doesn't specifically cover the EightyOne emulator but covers the general concepts and should give you a guide to find the correct handling in EightyOne. Note that not all emulators support emulating printers and not all of those support directly driving a printer connected to the computer running the emulator.
