1. Invitation to CSSCGC 2008

Hi All,

Thanks for accepting my membership to the ts2068 group.

You are all cordially invited to the CSSCGC 2008 competition.
(comp.sys.sinclair Crap Games Compo).

The website is at:-
http://reptonix.awardspace.co.uk/sinclair/csscgc2008/

For those who may not be aware of it, the aim of this competition is
to write bad, or rather crap games, but I should say that they are
typically humorous.

The competition was originally inspired by the infamous "Cassette 50"
compilation of poor quality games, released in the UK for the ZX
Spectrum, amongst other 8-bit platforms back in the '80s.

The competition is now in it's thirteenth year, and since I came last
in the 2007 competition, I'm now the host for 2008. The
competition has completely outgrown the original concept of parodying
the cassette 50 games, and now has a much wider variety of entries.

So far this year we already have 20 entries from several different
countries (UK, Spain, Italy, Russia to name four of them). The best
way to get a feel for the competition is to download and play some of
these entries, via the above link, in the Games section.

Games for the ZX80, ZX81 and ZX Spectrum are accepted. This year I
have also opened up the competition to all clones of these systems.

Entries for the TS1000, TS1500, TC2048, TS2048, TC2068 & TS2068
computers are also particularly welcomed.

We already have one entry that runs on the Russian ZS Scorpion 256.

I would have also liked to announce this competition on the forums at
www.ts100.us, but unfortunately that site went offline recently. If
there are any other ts1000/ts2068 channels out there then I will also
announce the competition on them. Perhaps if anyone here knows of any
such other groups, then I'd me most grateful if you could let me know
about them via email!

Thanks for reading, and good luck to all who choose to enter the
competition.

The competition runs throughout 2008, and the results will be
announced in January 2009.

Kind Regards,
Digital Prawn, UK
