1. Lemon Soft Spectrum emulator

Hi all,
In Argentina there was a company called "Lemon Soft" (yes, in English, even though we speak Spanish here) which created a Spectrum Emulator for the TS 2068 with some extra features. For instance, the joysticks ports are now Kepmston ports, or if you send a NMI a routine is called and you can freeze the computer, save memory contents, and even replace the first 11 UDG with accented letters (á,é,..), ñ, and open expression marks (¡ ¿). Error messages are in spanish.
OK, using Audacity and an audio cable, I connected the TS 2068 with the cartridge inside to my PC.
Executed SAVE "Lemon" CODE 0,16384
Recorded a Wav file, and loaded it using EightyOne, a great emulator
Saved the memory block, this is the file Lemon.bin you will find in the Files section.
Hope it will be useful for you. With EightyOne, you can select having TS 2068 hardware emulation but using the Lemon ROM. The ROM works with Spectrum hardware, but the special functions don't work well.
If you want to know more about how I got this file, or something is not clear (forgive my poor English please) I will be happy to help.
Maybe this memory dump file existed, but I couldn't find it. Perhaps Lemon Soft copied the code from other vendor in the eighties, and a dump of a similar cartridge exists, but I don't know of any.
Hints: when sending a NMI, you will have to select the funcion by pressing the keys:
Enter: Continue normal program execution
R: Reset the computer
N: Execute the instruction NEW
B: Return to Basic.
C: Create spanish special chars, replacing UDGs A to K
S: Save screen contents
P: Save complete memory

Does Anybody know how hard it would be to make this into a cartridge we could use in our TS2068's? this sounds even better than the emulation cartridge I have heard about, because of the kempston joystick... do you guys remember if music would work too?

Hi Pato,
I think, I have one of those emulators you mentioned. I will check and let you know how was all.
BTW, which city in Argentina are you from? I live in Buenos Aires.
Thanks
Mauricio

I created a folder named "Lemon Soft" and included the cartridge dump, plus two pages from the argentinian magazine K64, No.18, talking about this cartridge. The "Magic Button" mentioned in the article is a device designed to send a NMI to the TS2068, so the computer calls the special routine implemented in the cartridge memory.
The article doesn't clarify well some thing: after reading it, now I don't know if the Kempston emulation is achieved by the cartridge or something on the "Magic Button" device. But one thing is clear: what do get converted to Kempston are the TS 2068 joystick ports; I don't know who (cartridge/button) makes it work.
If you want to know more about the K64 magazine, please go to http://k64.bytemaniacos.com/ and you'll be able to download some issues. Unfortunely, in spanish.

I live in San Martín too.
Did you visit "Los Chiches del Tio Thony" at Independencia and Alvear Street to buy Spectrum games ?
Best regards.
Rene
