Those that have read the previous postings to the TS forum over the last day or so will already know the following:
Forum member Bruno Florindo and I, Rod Humphreys, recently undertook a project to keep a sizable collection of TS gear out of the landfill. We arranged that the collection of the late Jay Shepard be shipped to my home with the ultimate intention of preserving these items by passing them on to new homes. We incurred expenses in having 30 large cardboard boxes trucked to my home and hope to recover those expenses by asking for a modest amount for each item to offset the trucking cost of that item. We have no intention of trying to make a profit in this. Just recover our costs. Below is a listing of all the items, how many of each item and the amount we are asking to offset the shipping cost to get the item to us. Also, the recipient of the item will be responsible for the cost of shipping the item from us to him. We will ensure the item is well packed and will use whatever method of shipping the recipient chooses.
So that the forum is not cluttered with messages about this, please email me directly with your choice and contact/shipping information. We will contact you directly to your own email address.

We will collect all item requests over the next week and then be in touch with those requesting items. If more people ask for items than we have items I will do a draw to choose the recipients. Payment will be made via PayPal to my email address and the item sent once payment received at PayPal.

If anyone's native language is Spanish or Portuguese and needs help communicating with Rod just let me know (I'm fluent on both). Please remember what Rod said about how to reach him. It's better to send an e-mail directly to him rather than posting here.
I felt excited but also humbled when I was approached to take care of this task, but couldn't do it without Rod's help. A few people have contacted me in the past and allowed me to either borrow or give a home to some of their items just because (according to them) it was obvious I would take good care of them and preserve them as well. I know I use the word "preservation" too much, but that's because I care. Anything that stays with me will be preserved little by little and shared online (schematics, documents, magazines, books, newsletters, digital copies of software on cassette, disk and even the 5 1/4 stuff). The only things I won't be sharing online are the ones that have to do with Zebra Systems. This project will take a long time and I know some people who will give me a hand. As for the surplus which is being offered to the group, please take good care of it. It isn't everyday that you get a chance to get a working TS2068 or a Larken disk interface for $20...
I still have to compare the list of software on WOS with the list of cassettes and cartridges and determine what's still listed as MIA. Just another thing on a long to-do list.
All these things take time and we do it on our spare time, so please be patient.
I still have to find time to contact a gentleman at Microsoft who was part of the team that designed the TS2068.
P.S. I'm currently re-scanning a book that I borrowed from a fellow TS user and this will be the next thing I'll post online.
