1. Munchers: The Ultimate Timex/Sincalir Games Book

Adam Trionfo · Thu, 7 Feb 2008 10:04:

I received another TS2068 book yesterday. This one is called, "Munchers: The Ultimate Timex/Sincalir Games Book" by Yin Chiu and Henry Mullish. This book covers the TS 1000, 1500 and 2068. All of the games were written in BASIC, and a few with unexpanded TS 1000 in mind (so the games are fairly primitive). The book is broken-up into three sections. The first section is for unexpanded TS1000s. The second section is for a TS 1500 (or the TS 1000 with 16K RAM Pack). The last section is for the TS 2068.

Each chapter of the book is broken into four distinct parts. They are: The Game, Program Listing, Points of Interest, and Possible Adaptions

Here is a list of the table of contents:

Appendixes

Appendix A - Saving Your programs on a Tape Recorder
Appendix B - Keywords
Appendix C - Graphic Symbols
Appendix D - Keyboards

That's quite a few programs, though I'd say that only a few of them interest me, mostly for the TS 2068 (as thay have color and sound!). Before I bought this book, I thought that the title game, Munchy, would be a Pac-Man clone, but it isn't. Still, it does look interesting.

In a perfect world with infinite time I would scan this book. Since this world is neither of these things I doubt that I'll scan it. Besides, these are pretty basic games (pardon the pun). Still, it's presented well and there might be a few games worth playing-- but I'm not sure if they would be worth TYPING.
