1. New to TS2068

Hi,
I have just aquired what I think is a poorly TS2068 without AC adaptor. Before I go and do it any more damage can somebody please confirm the DC input for the TS2068. I know its negative polarity, but the schematics and technical manual vary between 9v and 15v as the DC voltage. (Maybe somebody could measure their AC adaptor output?)
Also - any list of common symptoms and solutions for these machines - such as it does xyz at power on if the 4116 RAM chips need replacing.
Regards
Simon

The Timex Sinclair 2068 (US) needs 15V DC (minus inside).
The Timex Computer 2068 (PT) needs 9V DC (minus inside).

There's no 4116 RAM inside. Usually the first thing to replace
is the Z80CPU (60%) then ROM (20%), then RAM (10%) then other
things (video circuit, oscillator, SCLD).

Thanks Jarek. That was some very interesting and useful information. I would imagine after all this time the keyboard membrane is high up on the list too? I have a TS1000 and a QL that have long needed one of those. My original TS2068 still works like new.
