I have 60 or more 5 1/4 inch floppies full of TS2068 software. Most of
it is public domain stuff from back in the day but I did make some
backups of commercial software and games, etc. It has been awhile
since I looked at this stuff and I cannot say for sure what is on there
but I did not want to just throw it away. If someone wants to pay $8
shipping in the US it is yours. You must have the John Oliger disk
drive interface though to access the files.

If I do not hear from anyone within a few days it is going into the
  trash.

Hi Paul,

Sure you were the first person to reply. Please make sure to send either a money order, cashiers check, or a check drawn on BofA or WaMu account (my bank(s)). Or cash would work. Thanks.

Hello Everyone,
I am up for sharing. However, I will need some guidance. I have tried several times to convert TS programs to the other formats, without success. So, I would really appreciate the help so that I can get better at re-formatting the programs and then help the community. I will send out an email to the group when I receive the disks. I love the TS computers but just kept everything on the TS format.
Regards,
Paul

Question for Paul: Would you preserve the disks as digital copies and
then share them with the TS community, the same way some of us do?

When I buy something I do it not just to add it to my collection, but
because I want everyone to have access to it.

If you're like me and you like to share TS material with us, all is good.

But if for some reason you can't commit to something like that, I
would rather see the disks sent to someone who's willing to preserve
  them and share them here.

Ohhhh. I never picked up on that tidbit.

Anyway, I am looking forward to finally understanding this process. I have a ton of other stuff that I could then make available to the community. But, first things first. I will check some older computers that I have for the 5.25 drive. Question: will Norton Utilities work for the image transfer? I have Version 4.5 that came with both 5.25 and 3.5 disks.

Ok, after reviewing the manual, I do not believe that Norton Utilities will work. I recall that there were programs that did bit copying from one to another regardless of the format. I suppose that is what I am looking for. Hmmm. Need to investigate that.

Well, everyone, please be patient with me. I am already picking up on why I never got anything to work. Sheesh.

I'll let you know if I can find the utility, or not. Is there one on the group site that I can download?

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks!!!! I'm sure everyone here will do their best to help you. Do
you have one or more 5.25 drives handy? You will need to connect one
to your PC and may have to change some BIOS options to detect it. The
next step would be to find an utility that creates perfect images of
  those disks.

I am not sure and I am going on my memory here but I am certain that the programs are only good on JLO systems as he had his own DOS. I could be wrong but I am not sure. There is also some Larken stuff in there as the JLO system had a optional board with the Larken DOS and the OS was switchable upon bootup.

A lot of the stuff was saved into memory and then to disk. The JLO system had a way to save software that was supposedly copy protected. I can't remember the file format but he called it "State". And this will definetly need the JLO DOS. But there is some good stuff here as I was the software librarian for the TSNUG group in it's final years.

My guess is that someone would have to find a way to transfer the files to a PC somehow and then convert the programs to run on a emulator.

Hi,
I do have the JLO system. First, I'll verify that I can read the disks. Then, we'll follow the plan as far as we can go to get the disks transferred.
Thanks,
Paul

Well, as long as we can find a way to create images of all the disks,
we'll have 50% of the work done. I had my Timex FDD3000 disks
preserved this way. A friend connected a 3" drive to a PC, a program
called cpdread was used to create a disk image, and a gentleman by the
name of John Elliot created an utility called Timex2Pl3 which helped
me convert all my disks to ZX Spectrum +3 disks. :) I'm now in the
process of editing programs so that they can run on a regular Spectrum
or Timex. I could've used one of my FDD3000s, but they both have
damaged interfaces. John Elliot was kind enough to create and compile
the utility specifically for the Timex FDD format, and he did in a
  matter of days.

I have no technical information about John Oliger's disk format, but
I'm sure we can figure something out.

And speaking of disk drives, do you still have any Larken or Oliger
  system to sell/trade?

  >But there is some good stuff here as I was the software librarian
  >for the TSNUG group in it's final years.

I never had a chance to be part of that group. By the time I found the
site the hardware list of items to sell was outdated, and the few
remaining people were moving to the CoCo(?) mailing list. Really sad.
And now that AOL has pulled the plug on those personal websites, it's
  gone forever.

I have been unable to find the Oliger info but it seems to me that Glen Goodwin posted that information a while back. Maybe a search of the archives is in order.

15. TS2050 Telecommunication Modem

Timex · Mon, 29 Dec 2008 01:18

I made a new page with pictures of TS2050.

Enjoy.

Thanks! Any chance you could preserve the TS1000 version of the TS2050
modem as .tzx? There are a few people at Rich Mellor's ZX81/TS1000
forum who need it. I would do it myself, but my copy has the TS2068
version on both sides. :(

P.S. I received two e-mails from you and sent you two replies and more
questions. Please get back to me when you have a chance. :)
