Yes. There is a small project board add-on that allows the connection of the QL monitor. I have two 2068s with the QL monitor cable coonector add-on. So long ago I forgot what-all is on the small board and the connections. I'll have to open one up and have a look again.
The QL monitor is about the best RGB to be seen from the 2068. Absolutely perfect.

Okay, I recently posted a file on how to get RGB video feed from a Spectrum +1 to show on a US TV with PC-In capability, using a piece of hardware readily available on ebay.
Now, has anyone cracked the nut on pulling RGB feed from a TS 2068 - not composite, but the RGB signals supposedly available from the expansion board?
If so, I'm certain I could adapt the device pulling RGB feed from the British Speccy to the TS 2068.

Attached are pics of the added wiring and perf-board inside my 2086 allowing a QL RGB monitor connection. Also seen is the wiring for the added on-board Spectrum/2068 switchable ROM. Installed in the case at top-right can be seen the switch that toggles between Spectrum and T/S. Below the switch can be seen the cable exiting to the QL monitor connecter
The add-on was acquired ready-made and installed by the user (me).
I probably still have the instructions...somewhere.

Where did you get the ROM switch board? I'd love to be able to buy one, or
if not that, build one. If you have any hi-res pictures of that board, I'd
love to get them.
Of course, the RGB monitor pin-out would be nice to document, too.

The ROM board and the RGB connector were from the same source, I think. The ROM has the Spectrum OS and a re-written T/S OS. The re-write corrected some of the bugs in the T/S OS such as the "delete" bug, and re-wrote some of the character-set. I have a memory that this came from Jack Dohany of Red Wood City, Calif. Jack also re-wrote MScript. But my memory could be faulty and stands to be confirmed or corrected. I'm sure I have the docs...somewhere. Anyone else have knowledge of this?
I have two 2068s with these add-ons. One is my main unit and the other was inherited from a late friend and user and now has Bruno's name on it and is just waiting to go to him. My sure that Bruno wouldn't mind if his was "reverse-engineered" by a capable person, non-destructively of course, if there was interest in this as an add-on project. Comments? Bruno? Anyone?

Just as a follow up, I found that the T/S 2068 Technical manual page 57
includes a schematic and instructions for bringing RGB out. The
component count of that board to the right seems about in line. Something
I may try here before too long.
I was hoping that the ROM switch would be an easy thing (according to the
tech manual pages 17&18), but all of the wiring on that EPROM tells me I'm
missing something.

Rod,
Your are correct about the "delete" bug fix as originating from jack Dohany. He sent me his version of the Timex/Spectrum ROM switch a long time ago. He included a copy of his source code with it (maybe he sent it out with all his ROM switches). I wasn't aware that he changed some of the character set, but that is possible. You are correct again about his re-write of MScript. Jack was a very talented fellow. I haven't heard anything from him or about him in a long time.

TS-2068 has RGB digital/TTL signals in the rear connector, but has not "I" (intensity), HSync nor Vsync signals.
H/V sync signals can be derived from the composite video signal following one of the schematics attached.
If you look at page 12 of the PDF there is a circuit and instructions to connect a QL monitor , IMHO that circuit and the connection mechanism is the circuit shown in Rod's pictures.
If your monitor needs composite sync, the previous circuit is OK; but if it needs (positive or negative) separated syncs, the circuit at page 4 is the right option.
Respect to the "I" signal, there is no easy way, that I'm aware of, to obtain it from composite video or YUV signals. TS-2068 connected to a monitor looses the BRIGHT attribute.
I was thinking in a YUV to analog RBG coversion using a very similar circuit to the attached one. That circuit is designed for PAL ZX Spectrum and the only modification needed is to block de V component inversion mechanism in CD4077 flip flop.
Rod, can you confirm that there is no bright attribute when you connect the TS-2068 to a QL monitor?
Regards,
Eduardo.

Rod, I don't mind having it reverse-engineered, studied, etc. In fact, I'll even ask Jose Leandro if he wants to take a good look at it and document everything for us to see. For those not familiar with Jose's work, take a look at hardware.speccy.org and choose English as your preferred language. I've sent him many of my cartridges, boards, computers and much more and he and Jose Manuel have always helped me preserve software and hardware and then send it back to me.

After you contact Jose, let me know what he says. We can arrange to let him look at the 2068.
