Does anyone ever tried to put these computers (ts1000, ts2068) on RTTY? I have seen software for both but, no hardware.

I have the modded 2050 serial interface, and I have a MFJ multimode decoder, but have never hooked them together.

It should work fine with any terminal program, since RTTY is a text mode.

Are you talking about a TS-specific TNC? I have never heard of one built specifically for TS and I would be surprised if there was such a thing. The Timewave and MFJ multimode TNCs were so common, relatively cheap and used a standard RS232 connector.

Although it would make for a very interesting project. Good luck with your search

Hi Bill!

So, what do you do with such a set-up?  You connect it to a short wave radio and acquire and decode traffic?

A few months ago, I started to think about the project ( I have no idea why) and found a TS1000 on ebay and a copy of the 73 magazine issue, just started to play around with it. I posted a message just to see if anybody had any luck with doing this kind of thing. After doing a bunch of research I learned about the modem, a serial interface and a few nice web sites. Been fun!

Back in the 1980's there were a couple of Ham radio magazine with ZX81 rtty interfaces. the Sept 1984 issue of 73 magazine had one and I found one from the Britsh Practical Wireless.
