1. Some questions regarding Timex copmuters

dziuberus · Wed, 03 Oct 2001 22:17

Hi
Lately I am working on Timex computers drivers for MESS
(http://mess.emuverse.com). To make them more accurate I need some
help:
1. Is there anybody who have info about rc2048 and ts2068
screen building timings and delays tied with screen memory ?
2. I added cartridge support for ts4068 driver but I have only
cartridge with spectrum emulator, so I need sumps of others to test it
a bit.
3. Anybody have technical info about Timex peripherials or other Timex
computers then TC-2048 and TS-2068 ?
4. I need also some software which was designed exspecially for this
computers (sound, additional graphic modes).

Anybody can help ?
Thanks in advance.

Krzysztof

Hi Krzysztof; nice to see you working on a MESS driver for the Timex
Sinclair type computers.

I would think the technical manual would contain the data for the
video timing. You can download it from
http://europa.unixville.com:81/2068/dl/TS2068TechnicalManual.zip
As a PDF file (free acrobat reader required); Alvin Albrecht did the
hard work of scanning it all in and making the PDF a while ago.

You could also try contacting the author of Warajevo, a Spectrum
emulator that reportedly works very nicely, and will also operate in
TS2068 mode (http://www.worldofspectrum.org/emulators.html) using the
TS2068 roms.

I'm not familiar with the TS4068, if its a Timex Sinclair of some
sort, it would be a prototype or something of that like? Please give
us some more information on that.

Finally, I don't know what you mean by sound software specifically
written for the ts2068. There are a few programs you could type in
and check out for yourself, but I don't have any sources for TAP
files or the like that would contain a program like that.

Hope this helps.

Louis
