1. SPECTRUM NTSC?

Hi.

I was curious to know what the chances are of finding one of the
better Spectrum computers in an NTSC model? My first computer was the
2068 back when it first came out and from there I went to the Commodore
64. Recently, I've been interested in learning about and experiencing
the Sinclair Spectrum computers. So, my first question is which Spectrum
was the best released? I mean best, sound, memory, graphics, speed, and
ability to play most of the Spectrum software? For Example in the
Commodore side, you had the VIC-20 that got replaced by the better C64,
and then the even better 128, but the 128 never outdid the C64 because
of the Amiga and Atari ST systems that were the next generation of
computers left the 128 in the dust. I don't have any experience with the
Spectrums, but I am sort of a computer collector/historian and I
appreciate and enjoy learning about all sorts of classic computers that
helped get us to where we are today in technology. I'm finally ready to
start learning and enjoying both the Spectrum and the Timex 2068
systems. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me get an idea of
which system to look for and if there is a chance of finding a system
that works in the US on NTSC TVs or Commodore 1702, 1084s type monitors.

Thanks
John

Your best bet is to buy the PAL system on EBay, and then also buy a
power converter and a video converter. These things actually work,
and I am able to view a Colour Genie on my VGA LCD monitor.
