I'm pretty sure I have this tape in my collection. I'll check this weekend.

Could you please record the side that has the TS1000 version of the Smart Terminal and send it to me? WAV format would be fine, and that way I could convert it to TZX, maybe with the help of Fred (Fred, if you're reading this, please comment).

The TS2068 version of the program was already preserved (although I haven't seen if it's a .TAP or .TZX) but the TS1000 version is still out there.

I too have the TS2050, but mine has the TS2068 version on both sides...

Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much! I look forward to hear from you. :)

And since we're talking about .TZXs, does anyone know if The Complete Machine Code Tutor for the TS2068 has been preserved? If not I'll add it to the to-do list.

As far as I know ZX81/TS1000 programs are converted to .p files rather
than .tzx (although the latest tzx spec allows for ZX81 block storage
in theory there is little emulator support for it).

I am not familiar with the conversion tools required to create .p files.

6. Is there a facebook page for the 2068?

Mark Scheck · Thu, 2 Apr 2009 04:29:

What do you guys think of having a facebook page, that way we can instantly share pics and ideas?

7. Re: [ts2068] Is there a facebook page for the 2068?

Senen Racki · Thu, 02 Apr 2009 09:24

I'm not too fond of that idea because I haven't jumped on that bandwagon
and don't intend to. I'd rather get content delivered to me via
e-mail. At least I can keep up with it through the course of the day,
little by little. Besides, my employer blocks Facebook, so even if I
submitted to joining I'd be limited to checking it in the evenings.
Perhaps as a value-added place to go to Facebook would be ok, but I'd
vote to stay with this venue and keep it as "the" (i.e. primary) place
to go to for information.

The same goes for me. I get invites from some friends to join,
but I never do. I have never seen the advantage of Facebook.
If people wants to talk to me, then they can just call me.
'Course the TS 2068 will never be able to call me (unless it
uses a modem-- but then I wouldn't be able to answer).

Bill Loguidice · Thu, 2 Apr 2009 10:09:

I'm much along the same lines, though I did get on LinkedIn and Facebook for
business purposes. Sometimes you have to go where the people are. For
instance, both, but particularly LinkedIn, were invaluable for scoring
interview subjects for the feature film videogame documentary I'm working
on. Otherwise, I don't use them for "gossip" or to keep track of what
people are doing. I've always been easy to contact online or otherwise, and
I already had several sites (still active) before the whole social
networking thing.

MP3 is bad because of audio loss.
When I have it, I'll send a link for you download the WAV file.

Oscar Arthur Koepke · Thu, 9 Apr 2009 13:33:

to make a MP3 that works... you only need to make a bigger sampler ratio like 190k, not the 128k usual, and can select mono, not need for stereo in computer tapes... you get smaller file size.
