TS Gear Handout 2.0
Howdy,
The 1st TS Gear Handout was very successful but there is still stuff available. The list of gear still waiting for a new home is below. This time It's going for postage cost only. Please look over the list and let me know what you want. Same as last time - if more than one person wants the same item then I'll draw numbers. Completely double blind and unbiased I assure you. Please get your requests in as soon as you can. I'll advise recipients of their postage cost and start sending out handouts Monday 19th. In addition to the list below I have 5 non-working 2068s and 6 QLs, 2 working but with suspect drives, and 4 non-working. Our goal was to keep this stuff out of the landfill and for a major portion of this gear that has been achieved but I'm afraid to say that anything left over will go to the recyclers. Life is cruel and I can't just keep it in my garage forever. Better you keep it.

I'll be closing off the TS Gear Handout 2.0 requests on Wednesday, 21st, so if you haven't sent me your gear request do it now. To my email address so the forum doesn't get clogged up.
One thing: one item on the list is TS1000 keytop replacement labels. Almost everyone requesting has asked for these. Just so no one thinks I have a secret stash of TS1000 keyboard membranes these are small sheets of individual keytop replacements. If you are making a replacement keyboard you cut up the sheet and stick the keytops on each key.
As usual there were multiple requests for popular items so I'll again do the draw and let everyone know how they made out.

I'm sorry if somehow I've caused you confusion.
Last week I sent out a message to the forum with a list of all the TS Gear I have remaining after the handout in August. Last week's list was included in the follow-up message I posted earlier today. Forum members were last week and are again now invited to request items on that list. I have so far received 19 requests and will start to divy up the goods, some items by a draw, later this week and will let everyone know then what they are getting.

Those items aren't "claimed", that's not how he does his give-a-ways. It's not first come first served. He takes all requests and if there
are multiple requests for the same item, he draws names out of a hat or something. Since he's giving this stuff away... he's trying to
"spread the love".

One person received items that he was owed from the last handout and those items he was recently sent are not on the list.
All the items on the list are available now and nothing on the list has been sent out as requests are still coming in.

I don't see where there are items no longer available. I have asked for a few things, but I don't expect to automatically get them -- where there are more than one of us asking for the same thing, I expect that Rod will have to arbitrate (through random draw, whatever). I think Rod wants everyone to be able to ask for items in the list. If more than one person wants a single item, there will be a draw, no matter when did people ask for it.
For instance, if there are 6 QL and 6 persons said they want one, you can still ask for one of them and there will be a draw: 7 people, 6 QL.
You don't get an item just for being the first to ask, you have the chance of getting the items if you ask for it before this wednesday.
Please correct me if I am wrong...
