Hi everyone,
I just noticed that I don't have BEEP working anymore. I use the VU-FILE program from Timex that has BEEP setup to indicate the file has completed loading and it is now not beeping. I can do the same thing using the SOUND command and for now that is what I have changed the basic portion of the program to use for that loading notification. Whether entered manually or by way of basic program the BEEP command will not work.
Here are my questions:
Has anyone else had this happen?
If so, were you able to fix it?
Is this just a precursor to the rest of the unit failing?

Hi Dan,
If you look at TS-2068 Schematics you can see that the beep comes out from ULA pin 19, goes to the mic jack and to pin 6 of ua78s40 through two diodes (CR4 and CR5) and a resistence.(R49).
If you have sound then the OP AMP of ua78s40 is working.
1- Can you save data or programs? Yes: The ULA is working OK and the problem is near CR4, CR5 or R49. No: The most likely cause is a ULA problem.or a cold joints.2- Check for cold joints at ULA pin 19, CR4, CR5 and R49.3- Replace CR4, CR5 and R49
