1. TS2068 Power supply

Hi to all.
I am looking for a power supply for the TS2068. I had a flood in my basement last year in April, had a lot of damage, had to empty out the basement and tear out all the walls, it was a nightmare. Anyways now that the basement has been repaired, I have been setting up, my TS stuff, and I cannot find the power supply!! :-( If a member can help me out, it would be muchly appreciated.
Cheers.
Rick

Hi Rick,
I can't verify it right now.
I am at the beach right now! (In Brazil is Summer time)
But by remembering it I know is a 15V 1A only not shure about the polarity...

Oscar

TS2068 uses a 15 volt 1 amp power supply. (off my old website)
Shouldn't be too difficult to source.

Hi Rick,
I recently had a similiar situation on a unit i obtained (no power supply) The "original" Timex Sinclair TS2068 came equipped with a 15 volt power supply 1 amp power suppIy. The outer ring of the plug is positive, and the center conductor is negative. This is reverse of most of the adapters I found on ebay. The plug tip size is 2.5mm x 5.5mm I believe (inner diameter x outer diameter). I have tried to attach a photo of the OEM adapter (don't know if the newsgroups allows this)
On the unit I had, I am pretty sure someone tried to plug in an adapter with the wrong polarity. This blew out both the 12v and 5 v regulators. After repair of both the unit is happily working again :)
For an adapter, the difficulty was finding a suitable replacement. I did end up running across this one on ebay, and this is the one I purchased and was going to use:
www.ebay.com/itm/New-NA-1500mA-Universal-Multi-Outlet-AC-DC-Adapter-3v-4-5v-6v-7-5v-9v-12v-15v-/251338619182?pt=Travel_Adapters_Converters&hash=item3a84f2f92e#ht_2505wt_1156
If the link does not work, you can try searching on ebay for:
"New NA 1500mA Universal Multi-Outlet AC DC Adapter 3v 4.5v 6v 7.5v 9v 12v 15v"
The Timex technical manual states that the computer can handle a DC input ranging from 14 volts to 25 volts. When I was repairing my unit, and looking at the regulator specs, it looks like they can handle that range. But dealing with 30 year old hardware, I wanted to keep things as close to spec as possible, so I tried to find a 15volt supply.
If you do end up using the supply referenced in the link above, I would check it with a volt meter, before connecting once you have set it for 15 volts. I found the one I recieved worked, but the arrows did not exactly line up with the desired voltage. Also the voltage was a little low compaired to the actual desired output. Ultimately, I ended up switching to using an old IBM convertable laptop supply that was exactly 15 volts but just needed its plug polarity flipped. I hope the info helps.
Chris

Hi to all.
I found this listing on ebay 360825845861 for a power supply. Would this be suitable for the TS2068? Would the plug end work on the TS2068? Thanks in advance.
Cheers.

Well
I preaty shure my is 15v 1A and it works nice....and steady.
My two units of TS2068 came(from USA) without the power supply, and both runs with these same power supply, previosly owned by an IBM laptop(not a notebook, is realy old)!! I only had to inverse the polarity of it and change the plug also(ibm was diferent from Timex)...
But the polarity is probably this one, negative inside and positive outside(like brithish spectrum's, they like to be diferent...)!!

Oscar
