1. Two TS 2068 Books Arrived Today
Adam Trionfo · Fri, 11 Jan 2008 13:43
I order a few TS 2068 books last week; two of them arrived today:
1) Timex Sinclair 2068 Intermediate/Advanced Guide by Jeff Mazur - This book, which looks brand new, is already available online here:
http://www.timexsinclair.org/unsorted/TS2068-IntermediateAdvancedGuide.pdf
I prefer books to pdf files, when available (and not too expensive), so I ordered this book. From a glance it talks about machine language, as used through BASIC. It is NOT an advanced guide to BASIC. BASIC is used, but mostly for PEEKS and POKEs. You can check out the above link to the book if you're more interested.
2) T/S 2068 Basic and Beyond by Sharon Zardetto Aker - This 227 page book is in bad shape; it is BEAT up; either it got lots of use or it has just been AROUND. I have not seen a pdf scan of this book available online (if anyone has, please post a link). This book covers BASIC only. Since no link to this book is available here is a list of the chapters:
1) Basics Plus
2) Numbers
3) Strings
4) Techniques
5) Graphics
6) Functions
7) More Graphics
8) Truth and Logic
9) Sound
10) Peek and Poke
11) More Techniques
12) Annotated Programs
Appendix A) Character Codes
Appendix B) Defined Graphics Data
Appendix C) Sound
Index
I'm looking forward to checking the Intermediate/Advanced book out, though it is something for the back burner for now.
Does anyone have experience with either of these books?
Adam

These are the books I have:
The Best of Sync - Volume One
The Best of The Plotter
The Working Timex Sinclair 2068 - David Lawrence
Timex Sinclair 2068 Beginner/Intermediate Guide - Fred Blechman
Timex Sinclair 2068 Intermediate/Advanced Guide - Jeff Mazur
I recently got several (in fact, some came today) ZX81/Spectrum BASIC and
machine language books that should also be applicable and useful.
I too prefer printed material to PDF's, but it has to be at the right price.

This may be more oriented to the spanish speaking members, but does
anyone remember a small, relatively thin book that was an intro to
programming in spanish? I recall a thick cover, smaller than a
magazine in size. This would have been 83-84 time frame. I vividly
recall the discussion about the PLOT command. Any suggestions as to
what this book may be?
Regards,
-Louis
