I would like to load programs on my 2068 using wav files.
Is there anywhere to download tap files/wav files for the 2068?
Thanks!

Have you looked at the files section of this group? I believe pretty much every piece of software that was officially released for the TS is there, which is not much :(

Thank you! Is there a way to convert .tzx files to .wav so I can load on my 2068?

There are also mobile phone apps that can play the sound for the tzx file out the headphone port straight into the 2068.

I have found a few TS 2068 programs that I have downloaded. I have found utilities to convert them to different file formats. I have found a number of emulators that I have run them on. I even found an app on my smart phone that is supposed to let me load a .tzx file straight into my TS 2068.
What I have not found is a way to actually transfer these files from my PC or my smart phone to my TS 2068. I've tried different cables, the original Timex cables and third party cables, I've changed the volume up and down but no luck.
There is a couple of things I am wondering about and the reason why I am asking here.
Both of my PC's have Realtek Hi Def Audio systems. I can't seem to find a mono setting as suggested by one of the utilities I am trying to use. Also, the lowest frequency setting is 44,100 Hz which again is higher than the suggested level.
The other thing is, on both of my PC's, I am going from a stereo jack (3 contacts) to a mono jack (2 contacts) on the TS 2068. When you place them side by side there is no way that the mono jack is going to pickup the signal from both contacts on the stereo jack.
My next plan of attack is to make my own patch cable, with stereo jack on one end and mono jack on the other end. I hope it works.
If anybody has figured this out I sure would appreciate it if you could let me in on the secret of making this work.
Thanks in advance,
Doone

The TS2068 is a half-deaf machine.I've used a little amplifier like the ones in the PC speakers with good results. some come with a jack for external headphones that you can use.
Regarding to the stereo/mono issue, some people bind the left and right channel in one mono jack and others use left or right channel only and play with the balance.
Regards.Eduardo.

I was unable to load TS 2068 programs either until I used this method. I simply plugged my cable into the headphone jack of the PC Speakers. This is also how I have to load software from a PC onto my Bally Arcade/Astrocade. The nice part about this is that once you find a volume-level that allows you to load one program, then that same volume should work for all digitally archived software.

1- Do you see the border to change from red to cyan and cyan to red when playing the "tape"?2- Do you see the red/cyan stripes when the "lead in" tones are playing?3- Do you see the blue/yellow stripes after that?
if you see border changes only (case 1) you have a very low volume.if you see red/cyan stripes but no blue/yellow you have a little low volume, sound with low pitch or some distortion. Try to adjust volume and pitch level.if you see blue/yellow stripes and the program doesn't load you must have a "R Tape loading error" error at least.
In the following video you can see a typical loading sequence, a screen in this case.

10. Re: Where to download TS2068 programs?
des.1950 · 23 Dec 2015 08:06:32 -
Thanks, everyone, for all of the help. For anyone else having this problem here is what I found that works for me.
I didn't get any signs of life, or program loading, until I used the amplified signal thru the external speakers plugged into the sound card, as suggested by Eduardo & Adam. I could get the basic portion of the program to load but the machine code would not load. I even went thru several different levels of sampling rates but still no machine code load. I was about to give up for the night when I looked at my smart phone laying by my laptop. I had tried, a couple of days ago, using it to load the program but the 2068 just sat there looking blank. I then swapped the cable out of the laptop and into the smart phone running the program thru the amplified speaker. HOORAY!!!!!!!!. It worked. I didn't fiddle with nothing, it just worked and the program auto booted just like it was supposed to.
I guess I am just not used to having so much trouble loading programs on my TS 2068. Even with my TS 1000 I rarely had any problems loading. Back in the day I would have co-workers and friends ask me to show them how I get my programs to load. Most of them were frustrated with always having to try 3 or 4 times before a program would load for them on their TS 2068.
Anyway, I have my solution now. Thanks for all of the tips. It is greatly appreciated.
