1. Why the Delays Before Posting Messages?

How come there is a LONG delay after emailing messages to the TS2068 YahooGroup before they are posted? I emailed two messages last week and it took five DAYS for them to appear. Do these posts need to be approved by the moderator of the message board? Has there been a problem with spam in the past? Why does this happen?

I'm a member (and moderator) of the Ballyalley Yahoo message group and we never have this problem.

I'd like to ask more questions here, but it's difficult to use a message board if you can't leave messages...

Hey Adam; I'm the moderator for the list. We have had severe spam
problems in the past; the email list has been around in various forms
since late 1998 or so.  We moved to yahoogroups back in 2001 or so;
we're a small group, so I wish to provide the highest quality
experience for a mail list so that users that are on will enjoy the
conversations and topics at hand.

I approve all new users, and basically put them on a probationary
period where any messages posted by new users needs to be approved. I
typically update your membership to allow direct posting if you've
proven you're posting on the topic and are not really trying to
distribute spam.

I apologize about the delay in approving your membership, I was away
from email for the past few weeks. I've updated your account so you
can post directly now.

Regards,
Louis

Makes sense to me. Thanks for addressing my question. We get spam on the ballyalley message group sometimes, but it's pretty rare.
